Why has my cell text been replaced by # characters?
I have an excel spreadsheet that contains text only and the text has been
replaced with # characters in two of the longest sentences. I have wrap turned on for all cells and thought that the character limit for a cell was on the order of thousands. |
Try changing that cell's format from Text to General.
(Strings with lengths between 255 and 1024 can cause trouble.) And you can put 32k worth of characters into a cell, but only about 1000 will show up--unless you add some alt-enters (to force new lines within the cell). I put alt-enters every 80-100 characters. sggp wrote: I have an excel spreadsheet that contains text only and the text has been replaced with # characters in two of the longest sentences.
