shortcut to a function?
I have noticed in a few posts now that -- is used in some of the solutions to
the questions asked eg =COUNT(--(ROW(1:360)0)) My question is, what does the -- mean? |
See http://www.xldynamic.com/source/xld....CT.html#format for a
detailed explanation. Odd formula you showed, the 0 doesn't seem to do anything. -- HTH Bob Phillips "SusanR" wrote in message ... I have noticed in a few posts now that -- is used in some of the solutions to the questions asked eg =COUNT(--(ROW(1:360)0)) My question is, what does the -- mean? |
Bob,
Without the 0 the formula gives 1 as a result, no matter wether it has 1:360 or 1:36. I would say in all cases it does nothing, but what causes the 1 as a result? The link you gave explained the question thanks.
The formula itself was just an example taken from another post elsewhere in the forum, it wasn't necessarily a correct formula. It's an array formula Jack, and it retunes 360 with or without 0 as long as
you array enter it. -- HTH Bob Phillips "Jack Sons" wrote in message ... Bob, Without the 0 the formula gives 1 as a result, no matter wether it has 1:360 or 1:36.
