putting leading zeros in front of number
I would like to display a number with leading zeros in front of it.

Format the cell with a custom format such as
00000000 (this would put enough leading zeroes in front of the number to make it up to 8 digits). Andrea Jones http://www.allaboutoffice.co.uk http://www.stratatraining.co.uk http://www.allaboutclait.com "caroline argyle" wrote: I would like to display a number with leading zeros in front of it. |
hi,
you could create a custom format for it but numbers with leading zeros are usually not real numbers, that is a number you would want to do something mathmatical to. ever had a reason to devide your zip code by 2? for that reason i usually recomend that you just format it as text and treat it as such.
