Day of the Week

All of the sudden the option under Format, DAy of the Week has disappeared,
so I can't show like Thursday, January 13, 2005. Any ideas why? I have
tried repair Excel.

I think this format is picked up from your windows regional settings.

In Win98:
windows start button|settings|control panel|regional Settings applet
Date tab
Long date style

Mine looks like:
dddd, mmmm dd, yyyy

thanks Dave that solved the problem. I question whether some tax software I
installed changed that setting.

I use TurboTax (not yet this year, though) and I've never seen it touch this
setting.

(But I have seen some nut behind the wheel fiddle with those settings (me!).)
