circuler reference
what is it and how do you correct it
|
A circular reference means you are trying to create a formula with the answer
in the question. ie. add cells A2 + A3 with be equal in A4. A circular reference will occure when A2 + A3 + A4 is equaled out in cell A4. Make sure to check your formulas by pressing (and holding) Ctrl + ~ (left of the #1) "Colin2u" wrote: what is it and how do you correct it |
If you get the circular reference message, click on Help

A Circular Reference is created when a formula refers back to its own cell, either directly or indirectly. The Circular Reference toolbar indicates the reference of the cell containing the circular reference. If you look at the formula or the Status bar (at the bottom of the sheet), you can pinpoint the source of the error and correct it. -- Paul Sheppard ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paul Sheppard's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=24783 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=391253 |
