Old Music Lover

Invalid Range Names

Excel 2000 -

I am trying to assign Range Names as four character combinations. I have
noticed that some are not valid.

Example "aaa3" is valid but "aa83" is not.

Why? Are there some naming restrictions?

CLR

For one thing.........AA83 is a cell address..........you could use AA_83 as
a RangeName

aa83 is a cell in the sheet, you won't be able to use a two letter-two number
combination unless it's IW or higher
