Default Pivot Table

Hello, I have pivot table based on data that identifies an item as "late"
"late if not rec'd today" and "late if not shipped today". The totol lists
the correct number from each category for a location but when I double click
on that total I get a list of every entry for that location, not just the
late etc. What am I doing wrong?

When you double click on a total, does it generate a new worksheet? If
yes, it is listing out all the data, which the total field is made up
of. The other possibility is that you are unhiding a summary field.

It does generate a new worksheet but it lists all the items for the location.
Example: Location 10 has 2 late items. The pivot table shows a total of 2
for "Count of Late" but when I double click it, it lists all 10 items. I
would like it to list only the late.

Insted of clicking on the total, double click directly on the cell where
count of 2 late items is displyaed for Location 10. For eg. Location 10
is in row 5 and Count is in column A, double click on cell A5 insted of
double clicking on the total.

I think I've set my table up wrong. I have "Location" in the page field and
then "Count of Late", "Count of Late if not rec'd today" and "Count of Late
if not shipped today" in the data field with nothing in row or column
fields. So I have a very small neat table that gives me the correct totals
but ... well you know the rest. Can you steer me in the right direction.
This is my first attempt at a pivot table. Thanks for your help.

You have got it. You just need to change the layout of the Pivot so that
the Location appears as row instead of Page. Then you can double click
on the row you want and take out the relevant details.
