mail merge from excel want day & month only

When I mail merge from excel I only want to use day & month, no year. No
mater how I set the setting in excel for date, it still shows the year in the
mail merge.

I did not mention that I am using MS Publisher as the document that I want to
merg to. I first tried to set up the field codes in Publisher and that did
not work. I then tried setting up the Field codes in MS Word the way you
directed and it did work. I then tried to copy and paste to Publisher and
that did not work.

You should probably ask in the Publisher group, then.
