In Office 2003, every time I send a file to the printer I get a pop up
message that reads "This document has been sent to the printer". The message
has to be manually closed. How do I turn this notice off? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the message is a OS feature - when I updated to Win XP Pro SP2, I started
getting those messages.

I don't know how to turn them off, but you might post a question in a Win XP newsgroup.

1.Right-click the Windows taskbar, and then click Properties.
2.Click the Taskbar tab.
3.Under Notification area, make sure the Hide inactive icons check box is selected, and click
Customize.
4.Under Current items, make sure the Printer icon is set to Always hide. Then click OK two times.

Anne, are you referring to Outlook? I am talking about anytime I print from
any application in Office I get this message. It is very annoying.

No. I'm saying it's a function of the printer, not Microsoft Office. In
Windows, hit Start--Settings--Printers. Check the properties on your
printer and see if there's an option to turn off the message.

The correct way to do this is to UNcheck "notifications" in the Windows
Print Server Properties, Advanced tab.
