Adding specific objects based on data...
I am working on a spreadsheet which I currently manually populate with
specific objects (colour-coded stars) depending on the respective date that that event occurs on. I want to implement a system whereby if I populate the date column, that excel will place the appropriate object in the appropriate column. I have two columns for the two different types of star. I have one column for everyday from start of June through to the end of February. Does a method exist to implement this? |
I can't see a (non-macro) way of doing *exactly* what you want, but I've got
a compromise work-around if you want it ... In your Star column(s) put a Star Symbol in each cell right down the column (I copied one in from Word - Insert/Symbol) Then format the font in the Star column to white (or whatever the background colour is). Then use Conditional Formatting to change the font colour of the cells in the Star column to the appropriate colour based on your logic rules. I was actually looking to get a macro for it. I've got a little VB
experience, so they don't phase me. I also figured that they would be the only way I could implement this, so anyone know a macro that could do this?
