Trace dependents is inactive
 

Somehow in some of my Excel workbooks the function trace dependents is
inactive, while in other workbooks this function does work. I have no idea
why it does'nt work in those particular worksheets. Can anyone help?

It won't work if the sheet is protected. If that is not it, post back.
