Custom Number Formats

How do I create a custom number format to return thousands e.g. if the value
is 1000 the format shows 1

Andrea Jones

Under Format - Cells in the Custom format box type

#,

(make sure you put the comma in). This will only show the thousands part,
note that it will round numbers like 2598 up to 3 instead of 2.

Try the following custom format:-

#,###,

This will display 1,523,754.25 as 1,524

Add how you want negative numbers to display at the end by sepearting
the codes with a semi colon (ie in brackets minus sign etc)
