possible to link a hyperlink?
I have a worksheet with hyperlinks to the internet. I have another worksheet that links to some of the information on the first worksheet. (So, for example, cell A1 on Sheet2 =Sheet1!A1.) This is fine, except for the hyperlinks. For the hyperlinks, the *text* is recreated in Sheet2, but not the *link* to the internet itself. I know I can copy and paste, but several people work on this file, and I want to know how to automate the process. In other words, I want to know how to make it such that whenever someone creates a hyperlink in Sheet1, it is automatically recreated in Sheet2 without their having to think about it. Anyone have any ideas? -- shellshock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ shellshock's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=24935 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=384721 |
Problem solved. :) I've used a macro to extract the URLs from the hyperlinks, and put those URLs in a new (hidden) column. I can then use the HYPERLINK function -- which I didn't know about until just now -- on this new column, and the hyperlinks are recreated on a different sheet. -- shellshock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ shellshock's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=24935 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=384721 |
