How do I get a footnote to give the date Monday, 4 July 2005
I would like to get Excel to give the date at the bottom of the page for
example Monday 4, July 2005 and the next day that I print it out it would be the 5th and so on. Victor William Floyd |
Try View--Header and Footer. Choose Custom Footer. Click in left, center,
or right, and then hit the Date button. It'll show &[Date] ******************* ~Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com www.MyExpertsOnline.com "Victor" wrote in message ... If you really want that format, you'll need a macro to change it.
Rightclick on the excel icon (to the left of the File option on the worksheet menu bar). Select view code and paste this code into the code window. Option Explicit Private Sub Workbook_BeforePrint(Cancel As Boolean) Worksheets("Sheet1").PageSetup.LeftFooter _ = Format(Date, "dddd d, mmmm yyyy") End Sub Change the name of the sheet (and I used .leftfooter, too). ps.
If you're new to macros, you may want to read David McRitchie's intro at: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm Victor wrote: I would like to get Excel to give the date at the bottom of the page for example Monday 4, July 2005 and the next day that I print it out it would be the 5th and so on.
