Go to File/PageSetup.
Go to the header/Footer tab. Click Custom Header, click in the Centre Section area, click the Picture tool (2nd from right) and insert the text or image that you want as a watermark. Click the Format Picture tool (1st on right), click the Picture tab, set Image Control to "Washout". That should do it. dear scott,
i appreciate your helpfulness spirit and your effort , but i'd like to bring your attention that my question was how to make the watermark appear as a background for the whole sheet ,similarly to what we do in a Word document. i appreciate you concern and interest and wish to hear from yoy ASAP. regards, Ahmad Al-Nahar certified MOS instructor "Scott Orchard" wrote: Go to File/PageSetup. I accept that it's a bit clunky, but take a look at the attached example.
I think that it goes a long way to achieving what you want. The picture I've used was made with WordArt in Word, then saved as an HTML doc.
