Names and Subtotal in office 2003
 

I have a large data range where I want to do a Subtotal. But when I define a
Name to the range to link to other formulas the subtotalling is working vary
slowly. It seems it is removing and adding subtotals line by line. Please let
me know how to overcome this problem. This is happening only in office 2003
