Wonder if you can help? Is it possible to lock one specific column on an
Excel spreadsheet without protecting the entire sheet?

Yes.

First make sure the sheet is not protected.
Then unlock all cells -FormatCellsProtection and uncheck the lock box
Then select you column
Lock those cells - FormatCellsProtection and check the Lock box
Protect the worksheet
