and how does one get around this limitation

Hi StevenE

The alleged limitation is 7. It is easy to overcome though.

Try and use lookup, iso IF. You can also split your argument into more than
one column, of which each can have 7 levels, but this is the long route, and
dates back to before Office, when Lotus 123 was the in thing
