exceL NOOB needs help w/sales tracking
I manage a nightclub and want to create a sales tracking chart per server. This is easy if all servers occupied the same cells on every worksheet. However, corporate insists that the daily sales report be designed around stations. Therefore, my servers rotate from station to station on a daily basis. I know i could always make a seperate worksheet designed around the servers and input the server totals a second time onto that worksheet but i was hoping of finding someway of linking a second worksheet that totals up the sales per server as i enter them into the daily sales report (the one designed around stations). Any ideas?? -- DIXIEDH ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DIXIEDH's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=24553 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=381471 |
Dixie, likely, you just need a sumif. And I need a drink!
http://www.officearticles.com/excel/...soft_excel.htm See the 2nd sumif description. Whether it's dates or whether it's Servers, no matter. And it doesn't matter if it's on another worksheet. You can have your server's names in Column B of sheet 1, for instance. Select Column B and Insert--Name--Define and call it SrvrLst; give Column C the name Cash. Then over on sheet 2, you can do a sumif(SrvrLst,A2,Cash), where A2 contains the name of one of your servers. ******************* ~Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com www.MyExpertsOnline.com "DIXIEDH" wrote in message ...
