When I change my data, my formulas don't update the answers, why?

I have a personal finance sheet that has basic formulas which I update monthly.

However, if I change a data cell, the other cell which has a formula linked
to it does not pull the new data cell information. The formula is correct.
The only way to "fix" my problem is to retype the exact same formula and then
it pulls the new data.

Any advise?

Could it be that you don't have calculation set to automatic?

Perhaps calc mode is at Manual ? A quick check ..
Click Tools Options Calculation tab
Check "Automatic" OK

Hi Ayprlthing

Try:

Tools | Options | select Calculation tab | Check Automatic option

First thing to try:
Go to Tools | Options | Calculation and make sure Calculation is set to
Automatic.

Hi there, the good news is that this could be quite a simple problem to
fix.

It is possible that someow the automatic calculation has been sitched
from automatic.

To change this go to

TOOLSOPTIONSCALCULATION

At the top you will see 3 options under the calculation heading, they
are

AUTOMATIC, MANUAL, AUTOMATIC EXCEPT TABLES

To ensure that the workbook updates itself automatically you need to
have te automatic option selected.

FYI If the manual option has been selected then if you were in your
normal worksheek simply pressing *F9* will update the data.

I hope this helps, if not please let me know
