how do i see all of a row that is cut off in excel?

I have a spreadsheet that looks fine while typing, but in print preview and
while printing, some of the rows are cut off at the top. i have tried to
adjust the row height, and this does make the row larger, but the same thing
happens in print preview and print.

Have you tried manually setting the print range?

How do you have the alignment set for that cell(s).

Format|Cells|Alignment tab

I could duplicate your results if I fiddled with that setting long enough.

Why not format the cell to wrap the text, that's what I normally do.

Right click the cell, Format Cells, go to the ALighment tab, under Text
Control, put a check in "Wrap Text". I always make the Vertical Text
Alignment "Top".
