Turn on automatic backup files

How do I turn the Automatic backup of files?
I have one files that makes a Backup of *.xlk copy but I cannot get my other
IMPORRTANT files to automatically backing up.

When you save the file unde filesave as, there is a tools menu, from that
dropdown select general options and check always creat backup
That is the only backup I know of except third party add-ins

Just to add to Peo's response...

This is a workbook setting. You have to set it for each workbook.

But you could create a new workbook template with that setting checked. Save
this template in your XLStart folder as book.xlt.

Each new workbook will inherit this setting.
