Is there a way to password protect a column?

Hi everyone,

I need to send some workbook to my supplier an in every sheet I need to have
password-protected columns (not all just some of them). Is there an easy way
to do so, or you have to create a VBA application that will protect only the
column that you want to be protected.

Thanks in advance,
P-A

dlw

highlight the column / format / cells / protection / check locked
Then password protect the sheet. That feature works with "locked" format
option that can be set for individual cell, rows, cols, etc.

Excel's worksheet protection is pretty much made to stop people from making
typing errors. It can be defeated quite quickly. If you're looking at this as
a security measure, excel isn't the correct tool.
