Default recovering a overwritten excel file

Is is possible to recover files to a previous version? What happened is
several changes where made and the file was saved instead of save as'd...does
anyone know any tricks for file recovery?? Thanks a billion!

Unless you've got some file recovery software, you're probably eponymous.
