i meant that (K4:K39) as the sum of those cells multiplied by the result of
the difference of the other cells. i thought that by entering it this way it
would give me that result

Did you mean this to be the sum(K4:K39), if so enter it accordingly, if
you did want it as an array formula then enter it by holding down Ctrl
and Shift and then press enter, or did you mean something else?
