Lately when I open excel workbooks they open in a small window. How can I
get them to open maximized? or normal size? I am using office XP with windows 2000 operating system. |

Drag them to full size and then use File-Close rather than the "X" box. And a tip - please put a precis of your question in the subject line, not just "Excel". We all *know* you are asking an Excel question, as this is an Excel group! |
Sorry about the subject - was led to list forum through a series of sites but
did not realize it was excel exclusive. I have maximized then closed the files from the file menu but they still keep opening in small windows (most of the time.) |

That's not what I said - *DRAG* the window to its full size - *DON'T* use the "maximise" button |
Don't maximize.
Stretch the window using the re-size pointer then close the window. Windows should remember that setting.
