Default File name changes

When I open my file called W9.xls , after it opens the name appears as W9:2.
Why does it do this?

It's actually just opening the workbook once--but you have two windows open into
that one workbook.

Click on the window you want to close and hit ctrl-w.

Remember to save the workbook the way you like it.

You have two windows open for that file. Just close the :2 version using the
x button on the spreadsheet, and then save the other window and it will be
gone.
