Data Validation - Create dependent lists
Morning
Have created various dependent lists using the INDIRECT function. What I need is for the user to select from the list looking at the wordy name but once selected I want the system to enter the code ie Asset Code Door 101 Wall 102 Floor 103 So when they select the 'Door' the system enters in '101' rather than the word 'Door' Help on this would be great. There's a sample workbook on my web site that shows a product name and
code in the Data Validation dropdown list. After an item is selected, the cell shows only the product name. You may be able to adapt this to your workbook. On the following page: http://www.contextures.com/excelfiles.html Under the data validation heading, look for 'Data Validation "Columns" Little pete wrote: Morning Have created various dependent lists using the INDIRECT function.
