Missing Excel Cell Gridlines
I tried the reset-the-Cell-Styles-to-Normal technique but that resulted in the loss of the EXTENSIVE custom formatting on a 20 page document that I've developed over the years. So I looked for an alternative approach.
I noticed that Print Preview showed the global gridlines but they were not printing so the prime candidates were the printer driver or some printer setting. On my Brother MFC-8840DN printer using the Brother Native driver on Win7 64-bit, the solution was to set Printer Optimizations = Disabled. (print Properties (printer) Paper/Quality Advanced Document Options Print Optimizations = Disabled). The Page Setup Sheet Gridlines = enabled (checked) now print correctly in Excel 2007. The document had always printed correctly on the MFC-8840DN under XP but something must have changed in the printer driver required for Win7 64-bit.
