Help pls with daily late fee

Hi, I am a manager of a Storage facility and we use excel currently to balance our incoming payments and manage our clients. I was trying to create an excel sheet that had the following topics

Unit #, Lastname, Amount Due, Date Paid, Check #, Amount Paid, Late Fees, Amount Owed, Payment Covers and Account Details.

Heres the problem i keep running into though, payments are due on the 1st but billing starts on the 2nd and we assume 30 days in every month. late fees are $2.00 per day, so a possible of $58.00 per month

I wanted it to allow me to put in the date paid and say it was the 5th.. calculate the 4 days it was late and add the amount due + late fees due and tally it into the amount owed spot, and then tally the late fees they accrued and put that into the late fees spot.

Is it even possible to do a daily late flat charge in excel for something like this?

could anyone please help me i would be greatly appreciative as to I am rather new to excel but eager to learn

Or possibly just a formula for days we justify is a month 2nd of the month to the 30th, so we can input the date and it tallys the total late charge which is $2.00 per day would at least get me started anyone able to help please?
