alphabetizing one column while keeping corresponding column

i am using excel 2000 on my vista laptop

i am trying to make a list of alphabetized CDs where column A has the titles and column B has the corresponding book its in. so when you want to find U2 its in book 4 but Sugarray is in book 6.

i tried to do this with the excel program i have and it worked fine. all the titles went in order and all the books #s stayed with there respective titles, but now when i try to add more titles to the end of the list and hit the button for alphabetizing the rest of the list is screwing up. the tiles and book #s aren't matching up anymore.

can you help???

Unless you attach the workbook, someone might be able to help you here.
