sumif only seeing one row
Tried to find an answer but haven't found one yet. :(
I have two sheets. On Sheet 1, I have a Demo Code (1, 2, 3, etc.) in A9:A17 and a total quantity column in column W. This is where my sumif would go. On Sheet 2, I have the Demo Code going across from D5:L5. Below that, I have quantities listed for each demo code going to different people. The columns are then totaled below in row 113. I want to show the quantity for each demo code in the Total Quantity column on Sheet 1. In my total quantity column on Sheet 1, I have the following formula: =SUMIF('Sheet 2'!$D$5:$L$5,'Sheet 1'!$A9,'Sheet 2'!$D$6:$L$113). So for some reason, it's only returning the first row (D6) and not the entire column. The column does have spaces as each address is separated by a row or two, but since the range is listed, I don't know why that would be a problem. Any ideas? Thanks! |

SUMIF doesn't work like that. The second range (a 9x107 matirix) is not the
same size as the first range (a 9x1 matrix). If the totals are already in row 113, why not do: =SUMIF('Sheet 2'!$D$5:$L$5,!$A9,'Sheet 2'!$D$113:$L$113) -- Best Regards, Luke M "LennyD" wrote in message ... If I'm reading your post correctly, it sounds like you've already done the
sum of quantities for each demo in row 113 of Sheet 2, so all you need is to transfer these sums to column W on Sheet 1. This can be done by HLOOKUP for instance, with the following formula in cell W9: =HLOOKUP(A9,'Sheet 2'!$D$5:$L$113,109,FALSE) Drag fill this formula down to W17 and your sums from Sheet 2 should all appear. Duh, that works! Sometimes you can get swallowed up in the formula and ignore
the obvious. Thanks.! "Luke M" wrote: SUMIF doesn't work like that. The second range (a 9x107 matirix) is not the same size as the first range (a 9x1 matrix).
