Puzzling Format Questions
 

Hi,

I am using XL 2003 for Windows.

I have two puzzling format questions:

1) In the first 70 or so rows, my comments are in Tahamo 11pt. Beyond 70
rows, the comments are Arial 8 pt. As far as I know, I did nothing
different when creating these comments. Why are they different? And how
can I set them all to be Arial 8 pt easily? I selected all comments using
GoTo, and then tried resetting the format with no success.


2) In a spreadsheet I inherited, I tried setting the background color to
blue on Columns C:Z. The "blue" on the toolbar palette was selected and
depressed, but the background remained white. If I went to Columns A or B,
the "blue" background worked. A & B columns are labels, whereas C onwards
are data.

If I moved down several rows, both the columns and data accepted the blue
background.

I am using a blue background to designate those cells where I have concerns.


I look forward to reading any thoughts you might have on my questions.

color.

Select one cell; then Format/Conditional Formatting and see what shows up.

You're exactly correct. I would never have thought of it. But there was
conditional formatting applied.
