'07 Large Operation Error (Delete / Insert Rows and/or Columns)

Help! I was so excited to have '07 until...
I have a very simple worksheet in a work book -
This very simple worksheet takes up 78 rows and 16 columns. Minimals
formats / formulas etc.
I would like to insert additional rows but I get the error message which
says "Large Operation. The operation you are about to perform affects a
large # of cells and may take a significant amount of time to complete. Are
you sure you want to continue? Note: This operation will be performed in 60
seconds if no response is received".
I have tried to select "OK" as well as wait until my 60 seconds are up - and
then I get this error message: "Excel cannot complete this task with
available resources. Choose less data or close other applications".
I only have MS Office document open and that is this one - in addition to
Lotus Notes and 1 IE window.
Is this bizarre or what?!!?

Answer: '07 Large Operation Error (Delete / Insert Rows and/or Columns)

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with Excel '07. It sounds like you're trying to insert additional rows into your worksheet, but you're getting an error message that says "Large Operation" and then "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources." This can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.
  1. First, try closing any other applications you have open, including Lotus Notes and IE. This will free up more memory for Excel to use, which may help it complete the operation.
  2. You can also try restarting your computer to clear out any background processes that may be using up resources.
  3. If that doesn't work, you can try breaking up the operation into smaller chunks. Instead of inserting a large number of rows all at once, try inserting a smaller number of rows at a time.
  4. You can also try deleting any unnecessary rows or columns to reduce the amount of data in your worksheet.
  5. Another thing to check is whether there are any hidden rows or columns in your worksheet. Hidden rows and columns can still affect the amount of data that Excel is trying to process, so it's a good idea to unhide any hidden rows or columns and delete them if they're not needed.
  6. Finally, you can try optimizing your worksheet by removing any unnecessary formatting or formulas. This can help reduce the amount of data that Excel needs to process, which may make it easier to insert additional rows.

I hope these tips help you resolve the issue and insert the additional rows you need.

Perhaps Goto Last Cell and see where the sheet really ends, then delete
the rows of nothing.

Humm, perhaps r-click the worksheet tab and Copy the sheet to a new
workbook. Then see if the error is gone.
