Can I use hyper link in one cell but link to more than one external data
files? If not, how can it be done?

If you mean to display multiple links in the same cell based on a condition
then Yes; as below...

=HYPERLINK(IF(B1="Yes","c:\1.txt","c:\2.txt"))
