Excel 2003 to 2007
I'm gonna upgrade to Office 2007 from Office 2003. I wanted to make sure that
all xls files which I have now in my disk will work once I upgrade to 2007 too. Searched the General questions section for the same but I did not get any hits, I'm sure this will be answered before, apologies. -- Failing to plan is planning to fail |
Excel 2003 to 2007
Hi Joe
Yes your files will all work in XL2007. They will be opened in compatibility mode, which will mean they still have the4 limitations of XL2003 in terms of number of rows and columns. When you save the files, you have the option of saving them still in compatibility mode as an Excel 97-2003 Workbook, so they can still be used in XL2003, or you can save them as an XL2007 format (.xlsx), which after closing and re-opening, they will be able to use the full 1 million plus rows etc. BE AWARE - if your exiting files contain macros, then they must be saved as an Excel Macro_enabled Workbook, with a .xlsm extension. -- Regards Roger Govier Joe wrote: I'm gonna upgrade to Office 2007 from Office 2003.
