importing another file format into Excel

Is it possible to import a txt file with 3 columns into Excel and have
seperate columns?

After clicking File, Open, change the File of Type drop down to .txt (Text
File), when choosing a text file, you will be prompted with a dialog box that
will allow you to break up the columns by a delimeter or through forced
breaks.
