Default Autofill Months

Hi,

If I type Jan into a cell and drag across using the small black box, it does
not increment the month and the option from the smart tag just gives me the
option to copy with or without formulas. Although, this method does work
with numbers.

What do I need to do to drag and increase 1 month (or letter A B C etc) at a
time.

Thanks

Hi,

Help Excel out a bit by entering Jan and feb in the next cell then select
both cells and drag the fill handle.

When competing hypotheses are otherwise equal, adopt the hypothesis that
introduces the fewest assumptions while still sufficiently answering the
question.

Hi

Not sure how you do it but I have try by
1) typing Jan in a cell and
2) go to the corner of the typed cell which will turn the cursor into a + and
3) right click my mouse and hold on to it, then
4) dragging it across the cells in the spreadsheet
5) a dialog will will appear and choose Fill Series

This give me an increment of the month from Jan to Dec

I suggest that you try again

You have to create new lists for these.

In 2003........ToolsOptionsCustom Lists

Add a new list by entering comma separated items or pick from a range.

In 2007.........ButtonExcel OptionsEdit Custom Lists
