Why does Excel 2007 open two workbooks when I open one of my saved workbooks?
Whenever I open the workbook I want to work in, another book opens with personal.xls as the name. After I save my work, I have to close two workbooks, why is that? |

When you record a macro you have a choice of where to store that macro.
One choice is Persoanl Macro Workbook..........Personal.xls This workbook opens when Excel is started. It is designed this way so your macros are available for any and all open workbooks. You can hide it so's it opens in the background and you don't have to deal with saving and closing it(unless you make changes to it) Or if you don't need the macro(s), simply delete the workbook from your XLSTART folder. Thanks to both of you. I have asked the question to several people with no
answers until now. "Gord Dibben" wrote: When you record a macro you have a choice of where to store that macro. hi
the personal workbook is suppose to open when excel opens BUT open as hiden. this is so that all personal macro in the personal workbook will be available to all files. so the solution would be to hide the personal workbook. on the toolbarwindowhide it will still be open in the background but you wont have to be closing it all the time. in will close when you close excel and will alert you to save ONLY if you accually changed something in the personal workbook. regards FSt1 "wcurtis" wrote: Why does Excel 2007 open two workbooks when I open one of my saved workbooks?
