Folder with largest number

Hello
Is it possible for Excel to filter through a set of folders/directories and
determine which one has the largest number and then open it?

thanks for any insight

Folder with largest number

Do you mean the largest number of files in the folder, or the file
with a (numeric) filename which is the largest value, or something
else?

Hello Pete
"the file with a (numeric) filename which is the largest value."
Yes, because the filenames are dates and I need to find the most recent to
work with.

thanks
Steve

You will need a macro to do that. I suggest you post in the
programming group.
