I installed excel on my Vista laptop and the formatting comes up different
than my XP desktop. Upon further investigation, although the Version numbers
are the same in About, the product number is different. The option for date
does not even exist in the laptop and the input is inverted? WHY

Excel uses the setting that the user specifies in the control panel (regional
settings) for date order.

So my bet is one is using a short date format in one order and the other pc is
using a different order--like mdy or dmy.

Thank you so much! You were a great help! Test #2? The old program I could
just hover the cursor over the horizontal scroll bar and using the mouse
wheel move the page side to side. This is not working now on the laptop?

Maybe it's another windows setting???????

In WinXP, I'd check:
Windows start button|settings|control panel|Mouse applet
And see if there's a tab for wheel control.

(When I do this I have to click and move the scroll bar. Clicking on the mouse
wheel has no effect.)

ps. You may want to check the old pc. Maybe you're using a different mouse
(with a different driver)???

If it's the same hardware, you may want to see if you can get the same
driver--or make notes of the settings????
