i am trying to show the difference between one collum and another can;t find
formula

You may need to give more information.
If you are trying to subtract the value in a1 from b1 then in c1 input
=b1-a1

EXCEL 2007

1. In cell A1 type:-

10

2. In cell B1 type:-

5

3. In cell C1 type:-

=(A1-B1)

This returns the answer of 5.
