Trace dependants or Precedents on a protected sheet

I have a workbook which is protected, the problem i have is that the person
using wants to be able to use the trace dependants and precedants buttons on
formulas. But the protect does not allow it.

Is it possible for me to protect the sheet and allow the user to trace
dependants and precedants on formulas?

99% no.

You can't trace dependents or precedents in a protected sheet. Using the
keyboard shortcut of Ctrl+[ you can select the direct precedents (however
Ctrl+], Ctrl+Shift+[, and Ctrl+Shift+] will all cause errors. Apparently
doesn't want to think that hard in a protected sheet).
