Order of oprerations error?
Why does -5*3^2 give 45 for a result? Shouldn't this be -45?
I thought this would be fixed in 2007 version- the 2003 version did the same. |

That's the way excel documents the order of precedence. I don't think MS would
ever change this--it would mean that lots of people would have a reason to never upgrade. (Yes, it's not the order you learned in school.) In EXCEL 2007 the result I get is:-
