Date formmatting a bit like accountancy please
I love Excel. I love the clarity and depth it can give to data. I love the
formatting available - but there is one thing I'd really like to be able to see - and that's column formatting for long dates so that the days all line up, the months all line up and the years all line up - the only way I can do it is to place the three parts of the date in separate columns and hide the column with the date - and inserting a couple of blank columns. It's fiddly when I reckon it would be neat to enable this to be done automatically. Thanks for a fine product ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Date formmatting a bit like accountancy please
Presumably by 'long dates' you are talking about the length of the written
words of the month i.e. January and May and the fact they they are different. If so why do you need to have such formatting? Why not 01/12/10 and 03/13/04? That way they line up perfectly. Just like accountancy as you ask. -- Russell Dawson Excel student "Paul Nolan" wrote: I love Excel. I love the clarity and depth it can give to data.
