Excel 2002; Macro for a light color band at the active row

Hi,

I find it difficult to read the cell content correctly at a distant column
of the same row.

For example to read the cell content of PQ 354 when the active cell is at
B354 when a large worksheet is open in a split window.

A B C D PQ PP
353 xxx T29
354 xxx K26
355 xxx U87

Is there any macro code for a light color band (light green or light yellow)
to turn on when I need it to serve as a "ruler" across an active row as I
move the cell up or down?

Appreciate very much if someone knowledgeable could help me on this.

Thanks

Low

This may be a situation where the Camera might come in handy. A lot of people
don't know about this feature so I thought I'd bring it up.

The Camera tool makes a dynamic picture of any range and the picture
dynamically updates with any changes. I find it useful for seeing what's
happening on other sheets or as you described, when your working in A and
want to see what's happening in range A, B, C, & D, and want to see what's
happening in range PO.

In Office 2007 I just select the range that I want to take a picture of, hit
Ctrl+C, got to the cell where I want to paste the picture, Select from the
Ribbon menu: Paste - As Picture - Paste Picture Link.

Here is a link that shows how to do this in 2003
http://spreadsheetpage.com/index.php...e_camera_tool/

Hope it helps,
Jeff
