XIRR value error

I am getting a value error when I try to calculate the XIRR for the following
dates and values. I checked to be certain that all of my dates are valid
dates. The value column has both positive and negative numbers. I'm stumped.
Can anyone help?

Date Value
10/14/2009 -1000
10/20/2009 -1000 #VALUE!
10/30/2009 1074.74
11/2/2009 -884.93
11/6/2009 -1000
11/12/2009 1126.96
11/16/2009 893.92
11/20/2009 -1000
11/23/2009 2019.78
12/1/2009 1005.53
12/2/2009 2099.96
12/3/2009 -1000
12/10/2009 -2878.98
12/16/2009 1099.81

So am I. I have no problem, using Excel 2003 SP3. Putting the dates in
A1:A14 and the cash flows into B1:B14, XIRR(B1:B14,A1:A14) returns about
1518%. Not a terribly useful result; but not an error. Plugging that (in
C1) into XNPV(C1,B1:B14,A1:A14) does indeed return about zero (about 8.8E-7).
The latter step is a useful check to make, since XIRR does sometimes return
incorrect numerical results instead of returning an error when it really
cannot compute the IRR.

Perhaps if you showed us the XIRR formula that you are using, we could help
you.

What formula did you use? When I use XIRR against your data, I get an answer
of 15.18056.
