Default Viewing header/footer in Excel very slow

When I go to View- headers and footers, Excel takes about 30 seconds if not
longer to bring up the header/footer dialog box. I don't know when it
started, but I do know it wasn't that long ago. The PC is about 5 years old
and it worked fine for many years.

Just a guess...

Try changing the printer/printer driver to something else. (The new printer
doesn't have to exist.)

If that doesn't work, try clearing your temp files.

Close excel
Windows start button|Run
Type
%temp%
and hit enter

Delete all the temporary files that you see there. You may have to view the
details and stay away from the ones with today's date (they could be in use by
other programs).

Then back to excel to test it.
