why do I get the following message in excel: "This document contains macros,
ActiveX controls, XML expansion pack information, or web components. These may include personal information that cannot be removed by the Document Inspector." ...is there a way to remove the "macros, ActiveX controls, XML expansion pack information, or web components"? I do have the trust center "remove personal information from file properties on save" checked, but have not created macros, and am not sure what the ActiveX or XML info could be, unless it was somehow pasted into the spreadsheet from a website... if so I would like to know how to erase... |

The message you are seeing in Excel is a warning that your document may contain macros, ActiveX controls, XML expansion pack information, or web components that could potentially contain personal information that cannot be removed by the Document Inspector.
To remove these elements from your Excel document, you can follow these steps:
This should remove any macros, ActiveX controls, XML expansion pack information, or web components that were present in your Excel document. If you are unsure about what these elements are or how they got into your document, it may be a good idea to consult with an IT professional or do some research to ensure that your document is secure.

I don't know about Active X, but for macros, even if you delete the macro, the code page stays in Access, and you will get that warning. To remove the code page, right-click on one of the tabs in the worksehet and select "View Code" A new window will come up that should have a left-hand section with a tree view of the VBAProjects. One of the folders is named Modules. You want to remove all the modules by right-mouse clicking on each module and selecting "Remove Module1". It will ask if you want to export the module - you can answer No. When any/all modules are removed, then you can close this window and then Save your spreadsheet. Next time you open it, you shouldn't see the warning message. As I said, this works for macros, don't know about ActiveX. -- Daryl S "Justin" wrote: why do I get the following message in excel: "This document contains macros, ActiveX controls, XML expansion pack information, or web components.
