Sum if with multiple ranges
 

Here is what my spreadsheet looks like. These are are grouped by weeks, so
each person will have multiple entries down column A.

John
1/14 16
1/15 15

Jane
1/14 16
1/15 12

Joe
1/14 10
1/15 13

I'm looking for a formula to add say all of Johns values based on a certain
date. I've tried sumif but it will not let me use multiple ranges.

Sum if with multiple ranges

Is john in A or a seperate column. Becasue it looks like your names
are above a series of dates.
